LEARNING UNIT III: FRIENDS AND FAMILY

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

●    Employs specific vocabulary about family members to describe their relationships.

●    Employs possessive adjectives, the possessive form, and the verb ‘have’ to talk

about people.

●    Employs prepositions ‘in’ and ‘with’ to describe people.

●    Identifies keywords from an audio passage.

●    Develops C21 skills: organizing new words (study skills), asking for help

(communication), predicting a conversation (media literacy)

WEEK 5: April 22nd - April 27th

LEARNING UNIT V: WORK

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

●    Employs specific vocabulary to talk about jobs and university subjects.

●    Employs prepositions ‘for’ and ‘in’, the present simple, affirmative, and negative with

‘I, you, we, and they’, and determiners ‘a’ and ‘an’ to talk about jobs.

●    Identifies main ideas from a reading passage.

●    Identifies details from an audio passage to complete notes.

●             Develops C21 skills: word partnerships (study skills), classroom language(communication).

WEEK 6 : April 29th - May 3rd

LEARNING UNIT VI: JOBS AROUND THE WORLD

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

●    Employs specific vocabulary about work to talk about companies and their activities

●    Identifies main ideas from an audio passage to make predictions

●    Employs the present simple, affirmative, and negative with ‘he’, ‘she’ and ‘it’ to talk

about work

●             Develops C21 skills: skimming a text (study skills), checking confirming and correcting (communication)

LEARNING UNIT VII: IN THE CITY

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

- Employs specific vocabulary about work to talk about companies and their activities

- Employs specific vocabulary about places and transport to describe a town.

- Employs "ther is" and "there are" in affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms and prepositions to describe the location of places and the way people move around.

- Identifies details from an audio passage to locate places on a map.

- Writes a short description.

- Develops C21 skills: using word maps (study skills), contributing to a discussion(communication), using a dictionary (information literacy)

WEEK 10, May 27th - May 31st

LEARNING UNIT VIII: UNIVERSITY LIFE

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

●    Employs specific vocabulary to describe a location and to give directions.

●    Identifies places on maps and diagrams.

●    Identifies numbers from an audio passage.

●     Develops C21 skills: listening for keywords (study skills), giving and checking

numbers (communication).

LEARNING UNIT X: FOOD AND DRINK

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
  • Employs specific vocabulary to describe food from around the world.
  • Uses appropriate determiners for countable and uncountable nouns for amounts and quantities.
  • Identifies specific information from an audio text.
  • Describes dishes

Develops C21 skills: reading a photo (visual literacy), planning an assignment (life skills).

WEEK 13 June 17th - June 22nd

LEARNING UNIT XI: PLANNING

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Employs specific vocabulary to describe daily routines at college.

● Uses prepositions ‘on’, ‘in’, and ‘at’, adverbs and expressions of frequency to explain how students plan their day.

● Organizes words to make accurate sentences.

● Interprets information in a pie chart. 

● Develops C21 skills: example sentences; strategies for learning grammar (study skills), using pie charts (information literacy). 

WEEK 14, June 24th - June 28th

LEARNING UNIT XII: ORAL PRESENTATIONS& REVIEW

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

●     Elaborates an oral presentation presenting a point of view.

●    Evaluates vocabulary, grammar, and reading and writing contents studied from units

1 to 11.

WEEK 15, July 1st - July 6th

LEARNING UNIT XIII: ASSESSMENT 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

● Applies skills learned.

● Summarizes oral texts.

● Elaborates responses to respond to all the questions with ease.

● Expresses oneself employing proper pronunciation that is very clear and easy to understand.

● Employs precise usage of vocabulary learned in and beyond of class.

● Indicates understanding of questions by responding to them with ease.
